Power Racks

Power racks are the main piece of kit a good gym revolves around and a home gym is no exception. If you are serious about your training then a power rack should not be overlooked.

A good power rack will allow you to bench press, shoulder press, squat and perform many other compound exercises that will have you packing on the muscle in no time. Some power racks also have pull-up and/or chin-up bars attached so if you are wanting to do these great back and bicep exercises then make sure your power rack has one.

If you want to do bench press exercises for your chest muscles in your power rack you will also need a bench to lie on so check if your power rack comes with one. Also its worth thinking about how much weight you are lifting now and how much you hope to be lifting in the future and making sure your prospective power rack and bench can take the weight.

Things To Think About When Choosing a Power Rack:

  • How much weight can it hold?
  • What exercises is it suitable for?
  • Does it come with a bench?
  • Does it have a pull-up/chin-up bar?
  • Does it have a stand for weight plates?

A power rack is a great addition to any home gym and once you have one it will be hard to imagine how you trained without it. If you are looking to add compound movements into your routine then the power rack is an essential piece of kit.
